"I'll go too!" The Freckled Girl immediately raised her hand, afraid someone else would beat her to it if she hesitated.
"Count me in. I've read loads of detective novels."
"My dad's a forensic pathologist!"
"Let me go instead. I'm the Physical Education Representative, and I've studied martial arts since I was little."
To Gao Ming's surprise, these students seemed to have no concrete understanding of death. Or perhaps they believed they were destined to be protagonists. He didn't even have to force anyone to come; several of them volunteered to go with him.
"You'd better think this through." Gao Ming's face was expressionless. Based on nothing more than a guess, these students really seemed to have taken him for an NPC. "Even I don't know what's inside that hotel. A Psychopathic Killer who enjoys dismembering and torturing people to death might be the easiest thing to deal with. You might also encounter things you can't explain. They'll drag you into the black fog and make you suffer through things worse than death."
Those few words from Gao Ming sobered the students. "There's one more thing I want to make clear: this isn't a game. If you die, you might really be dead."
Several students lowered their hands. Only the Freckled Girl and the boy with glasses in the front row refused to back down.
"We can't change our situation anyway. Waiting for rescue might be a good choice, but I'd rather take control of my own fate. If this really is a game, then completing a quest is bound to earn us a reward. It could make us physically stronger, or perhaps pass on some kind of skill. Either way, it'll definitely help everyone understand this place better." Li Wen, the top student, stepped straight out of his seat.
