A Real Interview

The interviewer at Motu Technology spoke rather harshly. Perhaps this, too, was a test of the applicant's ability to handle pressure.

Having been unconscious for several months, Gao Ming had never encountered a situation like this before. With little experience dealing with people, he simply fell silent. He wasn't someone who liked arguing back; in his dreams, he usually went straight to violence.

"You have a great deal of potential for making horror games, and your passion will fuel your success. Unfortunately, the kind of talent our company needs right now isn't someone like you. I'm very sorry." The other interviewer spoke tactfully, but the message was clear. Gao Ming's first interview was over.

"I was hoping to recreate some fragments of memories from my nightmares. Looks like these game companies won't fund me." Gao Ming wasn't discouraged. Over the course of the morning, he interviewed with several companies in succession, only to be rejected by every one.

With the dependable jobs ruled out, Gao Ming turned back to his list of alternatives. To be honest, he had never even heard of many of the occupations on it.

"This Haunted House pays really well for the night shift. The manager said they aren't busy at night, so I'd even have time to work on my own things."

Following the instructions, Gao Ming found the website for Hanjiang's New Century Amusement Park. After entering his information, he was invited into a video chat room.

The room on screen looked rather sinister, with a battered wooden desk inside. Dummies missing arms and legs were piled in a corner, beside unopened cans of paint.

"Hello? Is anyone there?" Gao Ming spoke into the microphone. A moment later, the camera shifted, and he saw a Cloth Doll hanging from the corner of the desk.
