The three bottles of medicine represented three different dreams. The instructions on the cube made Gao Ming feel that he could only use one of them.
Unlike the other visitors, Gao Ming paid no attention at all to the white potion in the middle. In his left hand, he held the black one, which symbolized a dream of despair; in his right, he held the blood-red one, which represented the truth.
"After the car crash, I had a long, terrifying dream. That must have been the most despairing experience of my life. If I drink the black potion, will I be able to dream of my lost memories again?" Gao Ming was strongly tempted by the black potion.
"But the red potion is important to me too. Rather than digging into my past experiences, figuring out how everything happened and learning the truth seems like a higher priority."
While Gao Ming wrestled with his choice, Donggua was frantically busy behind him. She bent down and crawled along the floor, desperately messaging Central Control and calling for others to come help. She could never get Gao Ming out of there by herself.
Central Control was panicking too. The visitors Gao Ming had scared out of their wits needed calming down, and problems had cropped up in the unopened areas as well. Most importantly, they had discovered that someone seemed to have tampered with their Haunted House. The dream-inducing potions that should have been in the Dean's Office had been replaced, and the potions in the hidden area were different from those they had prepared. As far as they remembered, the Demon City Asylum only had black and white potions. A red potion had never been an option.
Over her Bluetooth earpiece, central control told Donggua to hold the fort on her
