"Achoo!" Xu Deyi sneezed. Rubbing his hands, he moved beside Gao Ming and used him as a windbreak. "It's too cold. Let's go back."
"I'm afraid it might not be safe inside, either." Every nightmare had its own strange horrors. This one had certainly opened Gao Ming's eyes.
Without hesitating, Gao Ming told Bai Huang what he had discovered. Both of them couldn't help looking up at the fourth floor.
"The things outside seem to be trying to get into the building. The owner's warning probably wasn't meant to harm us." Ever since Gao Ming noticed the snowman had disappeared, even the snow around them no longer felt safe. "Should we go back?"
"The first day should be the safest. We absolutely can't waste it." Bai Huang frowned at Xu Deyi, who was shivering from the cold. "You three can go back first. I'm going to look around. We'll meet in the kitchen before dark. If I don't come back, you'll have to watch out for yourselves."
Before Gao Ming could say anything else, Bai Huang had already left on her own. She approached the manor wall at incredible speed. The heavy snow didn't slow her down at all, and the bitter wind could only stir the hem of her clothes.
"Her physical abilities are a little terrifying." Gao Ming suddenly realized something. Bai Huang's confidence didn't just come from the experience she had accumulated by surviving multiple nightmares. She had something else to rely on, too.
His hand instinctively pressed against his chest, touching something hard. He had successfully brought the walkie-talkie he kept close to his body into the middle nightmare. "Maybe Bai Huang has something similar on her—something she can use in different nightmares that can also affect and change her."
