Before the man had finished speaking, Xu Deyi accidentally tore the fool's sleeve in his terror.
"I'm not trying to scare you on purpose. Anyway, just stay in your rooms tonight." The man stacked the bowls and chopsticks together. "Remember, don't open the door without good reason, and don't draw back the curtains. Even if something wakes you up, you'd be better off closing your eyes and pretending to sleep."
The atmosphere in the Manor was already oppressive. After hearing the man's words, the Testers grew even more anxious.
"I'll go check the rest of the Manor. You should get back to your rooms as soon as possible."
The man left with his shotgun. Xu Deyi no longer dared to stay in the kitchen either. He walked between Gao Ming and the fool, as though he alone was hiding from some danger.
"Let's go to the second floor too. There are more people there. Zhi Ge and the others might be assholes, but compared to being looked down on and mocked, I think staying safe matters more." Xu Deyi held the fool's key. The three of them had barely gone upstairs when they saw Qian Jin standing guard in the hallway.
"Rao Rao and Zhi Ge were a little harsh during dinner. I apologize on their behalf. We're all Testers, so we ought to stick together. We can't start fighting over little things." Qian Jin's face was full of contrition, but there was little change in his eyes. "Why don't we all stay in one room tonight?"
"We have our own plans." Gao Ming shook his head and refused.
"All right." Qian Jin looked slightly disappointed. "It isn't safe in this building at night either. The man from Room 3003 came by a few minutes ago and told us about
