"The boss was fine a minute ago. How did she suddenly go mad?"
The white Ring Communicator on Tang Ling's wrist kept issuing warnings. Several numbers marked in red were requesting calls, but the staff exchanged uneasy looks, not daring to answer at random.
They had seen plenty of strange things while working under Tang Ling, and those special numbers marked in red were among them. Whenever one called, something terrifying happened. At best, a researcher fell into a deep coma; at worst, the entire laboratory was sealed off.
After a long hesitation, the oldest technician accepted the call. The instant the red indicator lit up, everyone's Black Ring in the room was taken over remotely. The laboratory's surveillance cameras swung from side to side, and every door and window began to close.
"Stay where you are. No one leaves without my permission."
The voice from the communicator was cold and sinister. No one in the laboratory dared resist. All the staff lowered their heads respectfully.
The alarms kept ringing in Gao Ming's ears, but he paid them no mind. Walking through the flashing red light, he followed the guidance of the power within him into the laboratory's underground level.
Using Tang Ling's ID card, Gao Ming opened a door in the darkness. Before him stood a Shrine as tall as an adult.
"Found it."
The Shrine before him was the one Gao Ming had seen before entering Dreamfold Town. It was also the greatest treasure the Unspeakable Dream had left to Eternal Life Pharmaceuticals. Dreamfold Town's deep dream had been constructed upon it.
The Shrine had once belonged to Dream. Now its doors opened, revealing the Divine Statue of the Flesh-and-Blood Immortal standing inside.
The Blood City's ghost markings crawled over the Shrine, brutally crushing the remaining butterfly patterns.
