Blood was a stimulus for Black Crow, one that would drive the malice in his heart further out of control. Yet Gao Ming showed no fear at all. He seemed unconcerned that Black Crow might go berserk and hack him to pieces.
"Blood?" Black Crow tightened his grip on the knife on the table. "This is the new medicine you were talking about?"
"I'm not sure what it does either, but you can try it."
Gao Ming clenched his fingers and held out his hand, letting blood flow into a medicine bottle.
With malice constantly tormenting his reason, Black Crow had no room to think too much. He grabbed the bottle and drank it in one gulp.
His eyes were scarlet. At first, Black Crow felt nothing, but after a minute or two, his heartbeat suddenly quickened, and his chest felt ready to explode.
Collapsing to the floor, Black Crow felt as though he had swallowed a thorny vine, its barbs piercing his guts one after another.
The malice radiating from the depths of his heart entwined with a blood-red force. Black Crow tore open his shirt with both hands, then clawed at his skin as though he wanted to rip his chest apart.
Hearing the commotion inside, the disfigured woman in the Nurse Uniform appeared outside the door and knocked repeatedly. Without Black Crow's permission, however, she seemed unable to enter.
After a dozen seconds, the woman seemed to make a decision. A thunderous crash rang out as an axe blade struck the reinforced door.
Blow after blow, the woman said nothing. She was going in to check on Black Crow.
