The warehouse held the wealth of the entire Black Market. Now that the Mountain Lord had left the Third District and a source of infection was throwing the Black Market into chaos, anyone who failed to grab a share would slap themselves in regret later.
Gao Ming had only set one fire, yet explosions and sounds of fighting erupted everywhere.

He sent the Dogmen out of the Black Market with their haul first, then followed the scattered fragments in his memory to find the warehouse Li Sansi had rented there.
Calling it a warehouse was a stretch. It was actually just a large chest freezer in a storage unit. Gao Ming smashed the chain around the freezer and pried open its heavy lock. A blast of cold air struck his face.
A freeze-dried female corpse lay inside. Her skin and clothes clung tightly to her bones, her face had caved inward, and frost had formed in her hair.
The corpse looked younger than Li Sansi, but when Gao Ming saw her clothes, he felt as though a needle had pierced his heart. A somewhat unfamiliar word surfaced from the depths of Li Sansi's heart—Mother.
A morgue tag was tied around the corpse's ankle, but so much time had passed that the writing was no longer legible.
