The Blood City had been slaughtered, all its rules shattered, and the limits of its Dream Ghosts locked in place. The unspeakable being from Rotting Blood City knew this perfectly well, for it had personally taken part in that despicable, unimaginably brutal war.
Nine Blood Cities had joined forces, along with an unknowable being that had betrayed Hanhai Blood City. Only through their combined strength had they managed to kill every Dream Ghost.
To eliminate any future threat, several Blood City Lords had laid curses upon this land, scouring every brick and tile with killing intent over and over.
"Hanhai's Blood City Lord had his soul annihilated. Every human and ghost who remembered him was killed as well. He was utterly forgotten, dying along with this city. But why... why can I feel the Blood City awakening?!"
The humanoid monster's body exploded. Countless droplets splashed outward, dissolving into North Harbor New City. A foul-smelling wind seemed to sweep through heaven and earth. Rotting corpses in every direction opened their eyes. Finally, a cat lying in Hanhai's Old District opened its decaying mouth, a human face reflected in its pupils.
It leaped into the Shadow World and bounded between the houses. When it reached a rooftop, its tiny feline face registered shock at the ghost markings filling the sky.
