"Holy shit!" Old Ma swore instinctively, scrambling behind Xue Se on all fours. "When did that Old Lady get here? She didn't make a sound."
With her palms pressed together, the disheveled old woman worshipped Xue Se, muttering something under her breath. She was very old, yet she stiffly bent at the waist to bow to him.
"Isn't she shaving years off your life?" Old Ma found the scene indescribably strange. The old woman didn't approach them, merely followed.
Glancing around, Xue Se found no one nearby and no surveillance cameras. He drew his service pistol and aimed its dark muzzle at the Old Lady. "Get lost! Don't interfere with police business."
The old woman ignored him completely. As if she'd gone mad, she spoke faster and faster, her words unintelligible and deeply unsettling.
