Gao Ming wasn't holding a grudge. He was simply curious. Judging by the combat strength the Void Blood City had displayed, it was probably only a fraction weaker than Blood Color. During the Blood Sacrifice, the other Blood Cities had merely done their part, but the Void Blood City alone had attacked the eyeballs in the nightfall.

The Void Blood City seemed to hate the Fate Giant Tree more than the other Blood Cities did. It refused to cooperate with the Central Blood City, apparently because it thought the Calamity Gods there were still too conservative.

"I don't think I've ever seen a ghost come out of the Void Blood City."

The Deep World did indeed have a rule representing nothingness, one of the Thirteen Rules, but ghosts that mastered or could make use of it were exceedingly rare.

While he was still some distance from the Void Blood City, Gao Ming left the dream. It wasn't that he was unwilling to keep traveling through dreams, but that there wasn't a single ghost anywhere near the Void Blood City.

Following the chains of fate's order hanging down from the night sky, Gao Ming found the most unusual one. It was mottled with rust and dull in color, as though some force had corroded it.

When he climbed to the middle of the chain, there seemed to be something between the nightfall and the earth, but Gao Ming couldn't see it with his naked eyes. He used the rules of dreams to probe it bit by bit, and threads of dreams slowly traced the outline of a Blood City.

Invisible and intangible, yet undeniably there.

It took Gao Ming a long time to find the entrance. Nothing barred his way, and he walked straight through the open door.
