Toward the end of this book, I had to tie up loose ends from three books. I also had to revise the parts of Dan Wang and several earlier scenarios that I worried might violate content rules. Between revising the earlier chapters and working on the later ones, I was scared every morning when I got up and turned on my computer. I practically wanted to kowtow to my keyboard three times first.
This book's setup was too complicated. It was a cycle of death that began with crossing into another world, with four timelines running along the main timeline.
The ghost Gao Yun in Hanhai was the most powerful of all the Gao Yuns. Gao Yun's timeline was Hanhai time. Years earlier, the high school bus carrying Class Thirteen overturned in the tunnel, trapping Gao Yun inside.
Gao Ming was the most ordinary and unremarkable of all the Gao Yuns, something hinted at in many places. Lu Zang brought him from another mortal world to Xinhu, making Gao Ming the teacher of the Gao Yun there. There was a passage in the book where, after Gao Ming escaped Hanhai and entered Xinhu, other people told him about his past: he had been a teacher who saved many students in a traffic accident. That had actually happened. By then, Gao Yun had already died in the tunnel and become the most powerful Gao Yun in Hanhai. The central condition for certain death in this book was being completely forgotten. Lu Zang had placed his bets
