"Mom, I have something to do, so I'm heading out!" Ning Shile hurriedly answered the phone as he changed his shoes. "Sorry, Brother Ye. Something held me up. I'll be right down!"
The person on the other end didn't respond to his explanation, saying only, "Open the door."
"Huh?" Ning Shile didn't quite register what he meant.
Zheng Ye repeated, "Open the door."
Something stirred in Ning Shile's chest, and his heart inexplicably sped up. He instinctively pushed the door open.
The moment the door opened, he met Zheng Ye's smiling eyes.
He sat in his wheelchair in the narrow hallway, with two black-clad bodyguards standing behind him.
Ning Shile was a little stunned.
"Aren't you going to invite me in?" Zheng Ye asked with a smile.
Ning Shile snapped out of it, pushed the door wider, and stepped aside. "Please, come in..."
Then he hurriedly poked his head inside and called to Ning Mother, "Mom, my friend's here."
