The two of them went to join Yan Wen and the others. Yan Wen and Tang Yun were bent over the lock on the door, muttering to each other, while Mo Chengzhou stood quietly to one side, staring at the lock without a word.
A staff member's voice came through the walkie-talkie. "The code for the lock is somewhere in the corridor. Find it and open the door to enter the first stage."
Yan Wen fiddled with the lock. "Okay, got it."
Qi Shu Yu examined the corridor carefully. "Do we have to walk back again? How are we supposed to find this code?"
Yan Wen straightened up. "Don't panic. Follow me. The code for the first stage is usually really simple."
Tang Yun pointed at the floor. "There's a fake spider, too."
Yan Wen waved a hand. "Let's follow it and take a look."
They followed the fake spider to an open stretch of the corridor, where it stopped and spun in circles.
Qi Shu Yu and Yan Wen crouched down to examine the floor, but there was nothing there.
Tang Yun rubbed his chin. "Maybe it's on the wall."
"Right!" Yan Wen shot to his feet. "Quick, check the walls."
Qi Shu Yu slowly stood up as well and joined the search for clues on the walls. The stark white walls made his eyes swim.
Mo Chengzhou suddenly spoke. "Is this it? 1012."
Yan Wen came over and nodded. "Probably. Let's go try it."
They returned to the iron door and entered the code. It registered as correct, and the lock opened.
They pushed the door open and went inside. Eerie green mood lights flickered in the room. A wooden table stood in the middle, with dishes of food laid out on it. Dust covered everything, and cobwebs
