The weather grew colder as deep winter set in, and Yan Wen and Mo Chengzhou moved out of the Mu family home and into their own.
A thick blanket of snow covered the lawn and ground in the front courtyard. Snow lay over the roof, trees, and streets too, turning everything into a world of white.
Yan Wen sat on the sofa, leaning back into Mo Chengzhou's arms as he played a game. Mo Chengzhou held him with a fruit plate in hand, slowly feeding him pieces of cut fruit.
Every part of the house was heated, including the floors, so even running around barefoot wouldn't feel cold.
Yan Wen opened his mouth for the watermelon Mo Chengzhou offered. "It's been over half a month since we went home, hasn't it? Mom said she wanted us home for dinner today. There'll be crab and crayfish too."
Mo Chengzhou poked Yan Wen's cheeks, which bulged slightly as he ate. "Then we'll go buy a few things in a bit and head over tonight."
"Okay. I want lychees." With that, Yan Wen opened his mouth and waited. A peeled, pitted lychee was fed into his mouth, sweet and juicy.
Yan Wen spoke as he chewed. "It's about time I went out for a walk. I've barely left the house in half a month. You've been buying all the snacks and everything. My limbs are practically wasting away from lying around. Today's a good chance to get out."
Mo Chengzhou set down the fruit plate and carried Yan Wen upstairs. Yan Wen wrapped his legs around Mo Chengzhou's waist and his arms around his neck, still battling away in his game.
Mo Chengzhou patted Yan Wen. "Let's get changed in the bedroom."
By the time Mo Chengzhou had picked out some clothes, Yan
