After lunch, Zhang Cheng returned to the Pokémon Center. While waiting for Poliwhirl and Pidgeotto to recover from their injuries, he let Flaaffy and Marshtomp out and fed them the Pokéblocks he carried with him.
By around five in the evening, Poliwhirl and Pidgeotto had fully recovered.
After thanking the staff, Zhang Cheng took his Pokémon with him, stopped for dinner along the way, and returned to the inn to rest.
Once back at the inn, Zhang Cheng let his Pokémon out and gave them enough Pokéblocks to fill their stomachs. After settling them in, he washed up briefly and went to bed.
The next morning, having gone to bed early the night before, Zhang Cheng woke up before his alarm rang.
After waking, Zhang Cheng got dressed and washed up, then headed to the square in the town center for that day's matches.
Zhang Cheng arrived fairly early that day, and there were still few people in the square. He glanced around, but when he found no sign of Xiao Wei, he found a place to sit.
At around eight thirty, the square began to bustle, with spectators gathering all around to watch the matches.
Xiao Wei arrived at the square then as well. Spotting him, Zhang Cheng stood up and walked over.
"You're here pretty early today," Xiao Wei greeted him.
"I woke up early and had nothing else to do, so I came over," Zhang Cheng replied with a nod.
"Let's head to the competitors' rest area first. Today's draw should be starting soon," Xiao Wei said, pointing toward the rest area in the middle of the square.
The two arrived at the competitors' rest area. There were far fewer contestants than yesterday, since half of them had already been eliminated.
