Seed Bomb exploded on contact with Poliwrath's body, dealing devastating damage.

Both Pokémon collapsed after taking each other's attacks. Their bodies trembled as they struggled to stand.

The battle had reached a fever pitch. The Trainers watching fell silent, holding their breath as they stared at the two Pokémon.

Under everyone's gaze, Poliwrath and Chesnaught kept struggling, but neither could rise. With their strength completely spent, both fainted on the ground.

The two Trainers' Pokémon had fought to another draw. Now each side had only one Pokémon left that could battle.

"Come back, Poliwrath."

"Come back, Chesnaught."

Zhang Cheng and Liao Wu recalled their Pokémon, then each took out another Poké Ball and threw it at the same time.

"I'm counting on you, Swampert!"

"Dragonair, it's your time to shine!"

At this final stage of the championship showdown, Zhang Cheng chose to send out Swampert after weighing his options.

Swampert's greatest weakness was Grass-type attacks. Liao Wu had just sent out the Grass-type Chesnaught, so the chances of him sending out another Grass-type Pokémon were slim.

Zhang Cheng also felt that sending out Ampharos would be a considerable risk. Its coverage was too limited, as it only excelled at Electric-type moves. If it faced a Pokémon that resisted electricity, it would struggle.

Liao Wu, however, did not give it much thought. He simply sent out his strongest Pokémon, Dragonair.

Liao Wu's father had specially obtained this Dragonair through his connections in Kyoto, hoping to help his son grow stronger quickly so he could eventually take over his position.

Seeing Liao Wu send out Dragonair, Zhang Cheng breathed a slight sigh of relief. As long as it was not a Grass-type Pokémon, he could accept it.

Besides, before evolving into Dragonite, Dragonair was not as powerful as one might imagine.
