Mega Metagross had a base stat total of 700, with both Physical Attack and Physical Defense reaching an astonishing 150. Its Special Attack and Special Defense were slightly lower, but they were by no means particularly low.
Its Speed was decent, and its HP was respectable as well. Mega Metagross was an exceptionally well-rounded Pokémon with tremendous strength.

Zhang Cheng chose to take the initiative. Mega Metagross was rather vulnerable to Fire-type special attacks, making Flamethrower an excellent choice for Moltres.
