"Starmie, I choose you!" The third Pokémon Mark sent out was Starmie.
A Grass-type Pokémon was the best choice against Swampert. Mark had naturally thought of that, but he had no Grass-type Pokémon strong enough to field.
His heart had already sunk when Swampert appeared, because he simply had no way to deal with it. Now he could only pin his hopes on Starmie.
Starmie was his starter Pokémon. It had stayed with him from his days as a Beginner Trainer all the way to his current standing as a Champion-level Trainer, and it was his most trusted partner.
"Starmie? It's been a long time since I last saw one." Zhang Cheng remembered that his last encounter with a Starmie had been in a tournament several years ago.
Trainers from different regions really did use very different Pokémon. Zhang Cheng had already gained a deep appreciation for that during this first battle against a Trainer from another region.
