History
Teaching at Shrek Academy
Zhou Yi had repeatedly violated academy rules before becoming Tian Chen’s homeroom teacher. Yan Shaozhe later states that Fan Yu’s support was the reason she had been allowed to remain at Shrek 17.
At the beginning of the school year, she introduces herself to Freshman Class One by declaring that she trains “monsters,” not students she considers useless. She asks anyone who fought during registration to stand; when nobody responds, she calls the class cowardly and orders everyone to run one hundred laps around Shrek Square, threatening expulsion for failure 12 13.
Although pleased by Tian Chen and Wang Dong’s exceptional performance, she shows no concern for students who struggle or collapse. Tian Chen challenges her refusal to recognize their effort and argues that teaching should help students improve rather than eliminate them after one failure. Enraged, Zhou Yi attacks him with Soul Power 13.
Defeat by Tian Chen
Tian Chen blocks her initial attack and counters her Fire Dragon soul skills. His blood blade breaks through Fierce Flame Dragon Armor and wounds her despite her Dragon Transformation. Blood-Eroding Mark then prevents her wounds from healing, corrodes her flesh, and drains her Soul Power 13 14 15.
Zhou Yi uses her Fire Dragon Right Arm Bone against him, but his lightning decoys mislead her. A delayed spiritual attack from Blood-Mourning Cry immobilizes her before Blood Demon Thunder Baleful Intent strikes, destroying her defensive soul tool and elderly-face disguise 15 16.
Humiliated, she launches another Fire Dragon’s Grasp. Tian Chen answers with Soul Profound Hand Seal, whose mental impact causes bleeding from her seven orifices and knocks her unconscious. A healing soul master stabilizes her; her injuries are serious but not life-threatening 16.
Academy Ruling and Resentment
Du Weilun confirms that Zhou Yi struck first and that Tian Chen acted in self-defense. Yan Shaozhe holds her entirely responsible, refuses to punish Tian Chen, and arranges another instructor to cover the class’s afternoon lessons 16 17.
After waking in the infirmary, Zhou Yi insists that her teaching methods were justified. Fan Yu explains that they cannot overturn Yan Shaozhe’s decision. She reluctantly accepts the immediate outcome but privately threatens to kill Tian Chen 17.
Appearance
Zhou Yi initially presents herself as an elderly woman, but this appearance is a mask that conceals a beautiful face 12 16.
- Disguised appearance: Wrinkled skin, graying hair coiled atop her head, a white robe, and exceptionally bright black eyes 12.
- Unmasked appearance: Revealed when Tian Chen’s lightning attack shatters her mask 16.
- Dragon Transformation: Her arms become scale-covered and more than twice their previous thickness; sharp claws extend from her fingers 15.
Personality
Zhou Yi equates authority with strength and unquestioning obedience. She openly dismisses weaker students as “trash,” threatens expulsion to enforce her rules, and regards exceptional students as opportunities to enhance her own reputation 12 13.
Her pride drives her to escalate the fight even after Tian Chen counters her attacks. She fears losing face before the academy and becomes especially furious when her disguise is destroyed. Following her defeat, she shows no remorse and defends her methods by tracing them to Grandmaster Yu Xiaogang’s teachings from ten thousand years earlier 14 16 17.
Abilities & Skills

| Soul Skill | Ring | Effect and Demonstrated Limits |
|---|---|---|
| Crimson Flame Dragon Head | Third; purple | Launches a charging fire-dragon attack. Neutralized by Tian Chen’s blood-blade net 14. |

Dragon Transformation
Dragon Transformation greatly enhances Zhou Yi’s physical combat abilities 15.
- Increases offensive power, defense, physical strength, and speed 15.
- Allows her transformed flesh to withstand Tian Chen’s blade strike, though it still leaves a wound deep enough to expose bone 15.
- Does not prevent Blood-Eroding Mark from worsening her injuries and slowing her movements 15.
Fire Dragon’s Grasp
A skill granted by her ten-thousand-year Fire Dragon Right Arm Bone. It condenses scorching flames into an enormous claw capable of igniting the air and leaving charred scars in the ground 15.
- Used repeatedly against Tian Chen and his lightning decoys 15.
- Her final, stronger use is countered by Soul Profound Hand Seal 16.
