Suotuo City's Soul Fighting Arena.
Li Sen sat in a VIP spectator box, watching Tang San fight for the first time.
In just a few days, Tang San had won fifteen consecutive matches. Nearly all the Soul Elders matched against him were rank thirty-nine, and some were even rank forty but had yet to acquire another soul ring.
When the spectators saw him step onto the stage, they erupted into cheers.
"Thousand-Hand Asura! Thousand-Hand Asura!"
Listening to the cheers around him, Li Sen felt a small sense of accomplishment.
A great teacher produced outstanding students, and the reverse held true as well.
Tang San's strength proved how good his teaching was.
Beside him, Zhu Zhuqing took a few deep breaths, then took out a drink and said,
"Teacher Li, Tang San has four matches, so this will take quite a while. I bought you a cold drink to quench your thirst."
"Thank you," Li Sen replied politely.
He reached out to take it, but Zhu Zhuqing moved it away from his hand. "Let me get it ready for you."
As she spoke, Zhu Zhuqing took out the drink, inserted a straw, then turned sideways and bent over to offer it to him, edging a little closer.
The distance between them shrank to less than a foot.
Li Sen could clearly see the swaying, snowy-white flesh that even Zhu Zhuqing's new long dress could not conceal, and he caught her delicate fragrance.
He certainly did not believe he was so charming that beautiful women fell in love with him at first sight.
The only possibility was that Zhu Zhuqing was willing to disregard even her chastity to become stronger. Becoming his disciple was only one approach, and when that failed, she changed tactics.
He would not actively steal someone else's fiancée, but he was not a rigid prude either.
Taking Zhu Zhuqing as his disciple would be troublesome, but if she offered herself to become stronger, he was no Liu Xiahui, who could remain unmoved with a woman in his lap.
Considering Zhu Zhuqing's disgust at Dai Mubai having multiple wives in the original story, however, the idea that she would offer herself to him might simply be his own wishful thinking.
Li Sen decided to test her, staring openly at the sliver of snowy-white flesh she had exposed.
Feeling Li Sen's gaze, Zhu Zhuqing's pretty face flushed crimson, but she did not move away.
This was her first time doing anything like this, and she felt awkward and at a loss.
But she reminded herself that Xiao Wu taking Li Xin and Li Yue shopping had given her a perfect opportunity to be alone with him.
Zhu Zhuqing lightly clenched her teeth. Not only did she stay put, she even thrust out her chest.
Li Sen could not help smiling faintly.
"Zhuqing, do you know what thrusting out your chest in front of a man at such close range means?"
"I'm no good man. I'm very lustful, and Li Xin and Li Yue are both my women."
Zhu Zhuqing pursed her lips, her voice barely audible.
"I know."
She looked at Li Sen. "I want to become stronger and escape certain death in the struggle within the imperial family. I'm willing to give everything for that."
"If you don't want to take me as your disciple, just give me more guidance, as long as it can make me stronger."
"Don't worry. If the imperial family comes knocking, you won't have to stand up for me. I'll deal with it myself. Even if I die, at least I'll have tried."
Li Sen did not answer immediately, weighing the advantages and disadvantages instead.
Zhu Zhuqing was far too naive. Imperial families cared about face.
The Star Luo Empire was even stronger than the Heaven Dou Empire, and it had Titled Douluos in the original story.
Li Sen considered it. He would soon reach rank sixty, and he still had a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring he could absorb. He was not particularly wary of them now.
As Li Sen sank into thought, Zhu Zhuqing began to panic.
It was her first time using such methods, and she had no confidence at all.
Thinking that he might reject her again, Zhu Zhuqing gritted her teeth, rose, and sat on Li Sen's lap, taking his hand and placing it on her thigh.
Li Sen immediately snapped out of his thoughts. His palm felt soft, warm flesh, and her delicate fragrance filled his nose.
Before he could speak, Zhu Zhuqing laid her heart bare. "Teacher Li, I admit I'm afraid of dying. I'm terribly afraid of dying without having achieved anything."
"If Dai Mubai had worked hard at cultivating, had spared even a little thought for my feelings, and hadn't abandoned me to go off enjoying himself alone, I would have faced death with him. I wouldn't have made this choice."
As she spoke, Zhu Zhuqing suddenly remembered something from a book about winning a man's heart: men were deeply possessive.
She gritted her teeth. "I swear, I'm not a loose woman!"
Li Sen smiled. She had already gone this far with her words.
He did not go too far either. After a little fondling, he began considering how to train her.
The Nether Civet Martial Soul had a dark attribute and excelled most in agility. She could follow a clone-based path, using self-created soul skills to make up for her lack of options and greatly raise the ceiling of her strength.
Evolving her martial soul, however, would be somewhat difficult.
Li Sen's theory of martial soul evolution had to account for both the Soul Master's strength and that of their martial soul.
The weaker the Soul Master and their martial soul, the easier it was to change.
The Hell Spirit Cat was not a top-tier martial soul, but neither was it as weak as blue silver grass. Zhu Zhuqing had also already absorbed two soul rings, so any further evolution would require a fortuitous opportunity.
"Teacher Li, could you come outside?"
Li Sen raised an eyebrow. Detecting the black-robed figure above the Soul Fighting Arena, he curled his lips into a smile.
Tang Hao had arrived.
Tang San's blue silver grass had already reached a critical threshold. If he could absorb the soul bone of the hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor, it would definitely evolve into a Blue Silver King, and his soul power would break through rank forty.
He had not mentioned it before because he had been too weak. He still could not win a fight now, but he could escape.
Without a moment's hesitation, Li Sen gently set Zhu Zhuqing down. "A guest is here to see me. Stay in the box for a while."
Zhu Zhuqing was a little dazed at this point. She nodded and curled up in her chair.
Above the Soul Fighting Arena, Tang Hao had watched Tang San's entire fight clearly through the open roof. His eyes widened, and the corners of his mouth lifted without him realizing it.
After so many years without smiling, his facial muscles were stiff, making even his smile look frightening.
His son had reached Soul Elder faster than he had. Against opponents at the same level, Tang San used only blue silver grass, without even using his third soul skill, yet his combat strength was greater than Tang Hao's had been.
Seeing how outstanding his son was, Tang Hao felt immensely grateful.
His son had chosen the right teacher. Not only was Li Sen's teaching excellent, his own strength was rising rapidly too.
Six years ago, he had been a Soul Elder. Six years later, he could fight a Soul Saint.
At that speed, even Tang Hao felt tempted to force him to reveal his secret.
But after seeing how fiercely his son supported Li Sen yesterday, and considering how quickly his son's strength had also improved, Tang San probably knew that secret and was using it to grow stronger. Only then had Tang Hao abandoned the idea.
After all, he could ask once he took his son back.
Tang Hao thought that, with this rate of improvement, Li Sen might be useful when he sought revenge against Spirit Hall years later. Even the way he addressed him carried a little more respect.
Hearing the voice, Li Sen ran outside to a deserted corner beyond the Soul Fighting Arena to wait, using his soul power to compress his voice into a thread and send it into Tang Hao's ear.
"Your Excellency Haotian, sorry for the trouble, but please come down so we can talk."
Li Sen had no intention of letting Tang Hao learn about his dragon-wing external soul bone or his evolved second martial soul, Luo Sanpao.
Tang San had received his instructions and would not tell him either.
Hearing Li Sen's voice, Tang Hao remembered that his martial soul was blue silver grass and assumed he could not fly because he had yet to become a Titled Douluo.
