The boy went mad. He rushed forward to rescue the girl, only for countless spears to pierce him from behind.
He felt tremendous agony, yet still struggled to save her.

The girl stopped murmuring and turned to look at the boy's corpse below. Then she began to struggle.
She tore out the nails pinning her arms to the wooden frame, came to the boy's corpse, and gouged out her own flesh once more.
The girl held that flesh to the boy's lips. "Eat. Have a little, and it won't hurt anymore."
The girl saw a beam of light, a towering tree that reached into the heavens, and then died.
Branches, vines, and flowers grew from her corpse, stretching toward the sky.
From that flower, she was born.
The two exchanged their stories with smiles.
They left the shop and wandered out onto the streets, talking about everything under the sun, as though their past suffering had already vanished.
