Ch. 602A terrifying clash
Key plot points and events
- Solitär’s flying swords break apart under Tatsumaki’s psychokinesis, then reform as swarms of smaller, needle-like blades. Tatsumaki destroys them and the lingering magic energy, then strikes back with a force shaped like a giant invisible hand.
- Solitär dodges the blow, recognizes that Tatsumaki can manipulate her power with extraordinary freedom, and launches a larger, denser rain of swords.
- Tatsumaki reveals her true strength. Her unleashed psychokinesis freezes and shatters the swords, crushes the surrounding landscape, and creates a vast crater.
- As Tatsumaki prepares to attack, Solitär tries fire magic, but Tatsumaki disperses it immediately. Solitär then raises a powerful magic shield; Tatsumaki’s next attack slams into it, leaving the outcome unresolved.
Character developments
- Tatsumaki shifts from holding back to taking the fight seriously. Having learned through her connection to Lin De and her fellow familiars that stronger opponents may exist, she now sees restraint and concealing her strength as useful tactics.
- Solitär remains confident and aggressive, but Tatsumaki’s power shocks her. She adapts by trying different magic and relying on her defensive expertise.
Significant themes
- Escalation and adaptation: Both fighters respond to each other’s abilities with increasingly powerful or varied attacks.
- The limits of confidence: Tatsumaki’s past belief in her own invincibility has given way to greater caution, while Solitär’s reputation and strength are tested by an unexpectedly formidable opponent.
- Power and survival: The demons watching recognize how overwhelming the fighters’ abilities are, and the damaged battlefield shows the enormous consequences of their clash.
Character interactions
- Tatsumaki taunts Solitär and dismisses her attacks, while Solitär answers with escalating assaults and attempts to find a way around psychokinesis.
- Solitär’s confidence gives way to apprehension and shock as she sees Tatsumaki’s full power; the watching demons are likewise terrified by the display.
