She had thought what was sealed inside the Light Cone was some fragment of memory.
That was, after all, a Light Cone's primary function.
She truly had not expected food.

For the first time in the real world, she recalled that flutter of excitement from the past.
Firefly had to admit that her feelings were complicated now.

Could something go wrong?
But it smells so good!
Firefly was deeply torn. She had never imagined that one day this question would trouble her.
Firefly picked up the True Sting Pupa and examined it closely.
It smelled delicious and was thoroughly cooked.
It felt wonderful to the touch-not just springy, but so tender and smooth that it was hard to imagine a pupa could feel like this.
Firefly was tempted.
But she still hesitated.
