The Earth Immortal Xuanshu sought was named Ji Fan.
Ji Fan had attained the Dao several hundred years ago. He had ordinarily cultivated at Heavenly Dog Cliff on Qilian Mountain, but later underwent corpse-release ascension before his tribulation.
Because he practiced an unorthodox method, he feared that reincarnation would cause him to lose his true nature and, with no one to guide him, sink utterly into the cycle of rebirth. Instead, he secluded himself on Qilian Mountain for a hundred and thirty-eight years, painstakingly tempering his primordial spirit, and actually advanced from a Ghost Immortal to an Earth Immortal.
In earlier years, he had studied the Dao under Patriarch Yiyuan of the Kunlun Sect and honored him as his master. Although he had never formally entered the Kunlun Sect, they shared the bond of master and disciple, and he had mastered the Five Thunder Heavenly Heart True Art.
On the day Xuanshu saw him, he had happened to be undergoing his tribulation.
