Leading them was Divine Nuns Xinru. Beside her stood a black-bearded Daoist with the bearing of an immortal and three long strands of beard. In his arms were two girls—Xie Shan's own daughters, Xie Ying and Xie Lin.
Seeing his two daughters lying motionless in the Daoist's arms, Xie Shan was badly startled. "This... this..."
Divine Nuns Xinru had the Daoist return the girls to Xie Shan, then told him, "Do not panic, junior brother. Your daughters' lives are not in danger. I have already given them elixirs. They should wake before long."
Only after confirming that his daughters had merely fainted did Xie Shan let out a long breath of relief. Then he asked what had happened.
Divine Nun Xinru heaved a long sigh. "They were determined to kill that Sinful Dragon, Shi Feiyang. They went to the Dragon-Elephant Nunnery on Yitian Cliff and stole the Bodhi Leaf Spirit Talisman, intending to reverse Space-Time. They wanted to return to when that Sinful Dragon was still inside Dinghu Peak and execute him first, sparing everyone the many calamities that followed."
"What?" Xie Shan was almost too shocked to speak, his heart wracked with anguish. "Those two sinful wretches! How could their paltry cultivation possibly accomplish such a thing?"
"Exactly!" Divine Nuns Xinru's face was filled with sorrow. "They never stopped to consider how many years they would have to pass through to return from the present to that time, or how many people's karma was entangled in those years. Never mind the two of them—even if you and I joined forces, with Senior Brother Tianmeng and Senior Brother Fentuo helping us, we still could not achieve it. Yet they trusted in
