Someone like Xin Ruyu, who had originally cultivated to an extremely high realm within the Buddhist Sect before losing faith, changing her mind, and entering the path of evil demons, could inflict enormous damage on the Buddhist Sect!
She could more readily convince the world, and even many within the Buddhist Sect, that what she preached was true Buddhist doctrine—that this was what the Buddhist teachings had always been.
She could use Buddhist principles and terminology to explain every teaching. Even murder, rape, and the extermination of entire families and clans could be justified through Buddhist doctrine with internally consistent logic and ample reasons. Everything she said and did carried an air of absolute righteousness.
It was as though, if she wanted to kill you, you ought to let her. Killing you was actually her way of saving and delivering you, of giving you a better future.
If you refused to be killed or raped, then you were ungrateful, deluded, confused, and mistaking falsehood for truth... your ultimate fate would surely be even more miserable than being killed or gang-raped!
She could use Buddhist doctrine to dismantle all Buddhist doctrine. The Buddhist Sect's Precepts, meditation, wisdom, and everything else could all become sheep's heads displayed over dog meat: she would replace their substance and lead them in the exact opposite direction.
A religion like Buddhism, which had spread for many years, possessed countless believers, and put down branches and leaves everywhere, could not be slaughtered out of existence in a brief assault from outside.
Only when the killing began within could it suffer a crushing collapse.
What could truly destroy Buddhist doctrine would not come from outside. It had to be an explosion from within.
The Dharma Decline Age, the Dharma Extinction Age... could they begin with this Xin Ruyu?
