Back when Shakyamuni Buddha lived in the world, a disciple asked him, "Why is the Ultimate Bliss World in the West so wondrous, so serene and beautiful, while our Saha World is a saha of the five defilements?"
Shakyamuni Buddha pressed his hand against the ground and allowed his disciple to see the world's true form.
As it turned out, the true form of the Saha World was also pure. It had always been pure, never once stained. The so-called "saha of the five defilements" arose only from sentient beings' karmic causes and conditions. They could see only various "defiled appearances," living within their own realms of "five defilements," unable to see the world's original purity.
The Saha World's outward appearance was one of "five defilements," but its underlying nature was pure.
