A Note to Readers Before Paid Chapters Begin

I never expected this lousy book, with readers I could count on one hand, to make it this far and be about to start releasing paid chapters. (There's one more chapter coming today; I'll set up the paid chapters tomorrow.)

In the first few chapters, I used [Pseudo-Immortality] as a framing device, hoping that unraveling the reason behind that Longevity would carry the first tenth of the book. But readers came in and found that it wasn't written like a Longevity-focused novel, so retention was poor during the initial listing period, which in turn meant it never got a single recommendation slot.

I'm not too sure what subgenre I'm writing myself. It's rather complicated; the words are on the tip of my tongue, yet I can't quite put it into words.

But I can make a promise to all of you who have read this far: I'll at least finish everything before ascension. I may leave the post-ascension storyline for the next book and rethink it then. After all, my reference material is woefully inadequate.

If you genuinely want to keep reading, you can follow along without worrying. I'll write several million Chinese characters and finish the human realm storyline.

I won't ask you to vote for me or recommend my book anymore, either. Everyone in this world has their own difficulties, after all, so just vote for the works you like. Let me hone my craft properly and write a good book before I ask you for recommendations and monthly votes again.
