Xuanming transformed into a streak of light and entered the Jade Scripture of the Central Yellow Court. As his mind touched the scripture, wondrous sounds rang out, echoing through his thoughts like great bronze bells, kindling wisdom and awakening his Dao nature:

"Contemplate the heavenly Divine above my head; my hair becomes ten thousand strands of stars, long and coiling, their radiance dark and profound. At the center of the crown lies that named Heaven-Piercing... Above sits a mystic child, shining like moonlight; within the canopy of true essence, cultivate illumination... Through the hollow of the lungs, ascend and descend, vast as a piercing aperture leading to the Great Constant..."

Xuanming immersed himself in it, utterly enthralled. In a daze, he entered another realm and beheld a complete world.

Heaven, earth, and humanity, the Three Powers, existed together. Heaven moved with constancy, earth followed its laws, and humanity acted with spirit. All things had their order, and all beings possessed goodness: plants withered and flourished, the seasons changed, the sun and moon revolved, birds and beasts multiplied, and humans married...

Yet all this soon became illusory. Heaven collapsed and earth split apart, and every living being dissolved into qi. The various kinds of qi mingled, then the myriad qi first returned to three, representing the Three Powers and also the Three Origins. Above, they reflected heaven's treasures—the sun, moon, and stars; below, earth's treasures—water, fire, and soil; between them, humanity's treasures—essence, qi, and Divine.

The three kinds of qi merged into two: yin and yang. Divided into light and dark, these currents gave rise to countless hollows of varying sizes as they circulated, forming a multitude of black holes, dark, fathomless, and inscrutable.

The Yin and Yang qi returned together to one. Ultimately, all these currents became a single kind
