Ch. 161The Battle for Transcendence (II)
Plot points and events
- The Heavenly Evil God begins restoring his strength by devouring lesser members of the Extraterritorial Evil Clan, then demands that every remaining lesser clan sacrifice one Demon Emperor. The Holy Heavenly Demon Emperor enforces the order, and the Heavenly Evil God consumes the victims’ concentrated blood essence.
- As his power surges, the Heavenly Evil God opens all five of his evil eyes. The Undying Lord notes that he had opened only four during his ancient battle with the Immortal Emperor, suggesting he may now be even stronger.
- Liu Yu does not interrupt the recovery. The chapter reveals that he has already reclaimed Saint Abyss, entered the Demon Domain, and devoured its Demon Emperors and other clan members. He sent a clone to Northern Wilderness Hill after learning of the Holy Heavenly Demon Emperor’s plan.
- Confident after completing his recovery, the Heavenly Evil God threatens Liu Yu. Liu Yu answers with the World-Destroying Holy Spear. The Heavenly Evil God counters with Evil Waterfall, but Liu Yu’s spears pierce and purify it.
Character developments and interactions
- The Heavenly Evil God is ruthless and increasingly confident, sacrificing his own people to regain power. He believes Liu Yu’s apparent restraint gives him the chance to unleash his full strength.
- The Holy Heavenly Demon Emperor and the other supreme Demon Emperors comply with the sacrifice order despite its cost to their subordinate clans, then retreat behind the Heavenly Evil God when Liu Yu’s purifying power threatens them.
- Liu Yu remains calm and allows the Heavenly Evil God to reach full strength, relying on his own immense power. The chapter also reveals the scale of his earlier campaign against the Demon Domain.
- The Undying Lord and True Dragon Emperor are disturbed by the clan’s sacrifices and concerned by the Heavenly Evil God’s five open eyes.
