Chen Yuan opened his eyes.

A face appeared right in front of him, very close.

So close he could clearly see the tiny pores on Zhou Min's face, every long eyelash, and even the faint lines on her lips.

She leaned over him, both hands braced on the edge of the sofa, looking down at him.

Startled, Chen Yuan instinctively shrank back against the sofa.

Then he abruptly sat up.

"M-Min?"

Zhou Min didn't move. She stayed bent over, watching him.

She had changed her look today.

She wore a tight little camisole with two thin straps over her shoulders. Its neckline plunged low, revealing a broad expanse of pale skin.

Below it were shorts so skimpy they barely covered the tops of her thighs, leaving both pale legs exposed.

As Zhou Min bent over, her neckline faced Chen Yuan, giving him a view of everything.

Chen Yuan took one look, then quickly averted his eyes.

Zhou Min laughed, amused.

"You're awake?"

Chen Yuan nodded and shifted back, putting a little distance between them.

Zhou Min straightened up and sat beside him.

They were so close that Chen Yuan could smell her perfume, strong and almost aggressive.

"Did you sleep well last night, Yuan?" Zhou Min asked, tilting her head at him.

Chen Yuan murmured an affirmative.

Smiling, Zhou Min reached out and patted his shoulder.

"Thank goodness you were there last night. If it hadn't been for you, that bastard would've had his way with me."

After patting him, she didn't pull her hand away immediately, but left it resting lightly there.

Chen Yuan could feel the warmth of her fingers.

"It's fine. It was the right thing to do."

Zhou Min's eyes shone as she looked at him.

"Yuan, you're really something."

Excitement spread across her face.

"You took on four guys like it was nothing. Last night, I didn't even see how you moved before they were all on the ground."

Chen Yuan scratched his head. "I trained for a few years."

"You trained for a few years?" Zhou Min edged closer. "Where? How about teaching me?"

As she leaned in, her full breasts pressed firmly against Chen Yuan's arm.

Chen Yuan drew back a little.

"In my village, with my grandpa. I can't teach you. You have to start as a kid."

Smiling, Zhou Min reached out and stroked his cheek.

"Why so shy, Yuan? I'm not going to eat you."

Chen Yuan's face reddened a little.

He knew what Zhou Min was doing.

Yesterday, he'd still been a country bumpkin, cornered in the bathroom while she looked him up and down. Today, he was suddenly a hot commodity, and she was pressing herself against him.

Chen Yuan thought back to last night.

Zhou Min had spent that man's money and treated him like a sucker, and it had ended in that mess.

Now she was clinging to him like this.

Chen Yuan knew exactly what was going on.

This woman was no good!

Still, he didn't make too obvious a show of avoiding her.

There was no harm in enjoying the view for free.

Chen Yuan glanced over out of the corner of his eye.

The body wrapped in that little camisole certainly had plenty to offer.

She couldn't match Sister Ezi in size, but there was still plenty to look at.

Those two pale legs were right beside him, so close he could see how fine and smooth the skin on her thighs was.

When Zhou Min caught Chen Yuan stealing glances at her body, she knew where she stood.

She moved closer again, this time simply draping an arm over his shoulders.

"Yuan, do you have a place to stay in Deep City? Why not stay here and keep me company?"

Chen Yuan's neck tickled, and he drew back.

"I... I've already arranged it with Sister Ezi. I'll stay for a few days."

Zhou Min smiled and tightened her arm around him.

"Xiu'e is Xiu'e, and I'm me." She blew softly into his ear. "Xiu'e works during the day. I can keep you company."

Chen Yuan went rigid.

Just then, the door opened.

Zhang Xiu'e walked in carrying breakfast.

As soon as she entered, she saw the two of them on the sofa.

Zhou Min had her arm around Chen Yuan and was leaning close to his ear, their pose decidedly intimate.

Zhang Xiu'e stood in the doorway, momentarily stunned.

Seeing her, Zhou Min took her hand off Chen Yuan's shoulder, looking a little embarrassed.

Zhang Xiu'e looked at the two of them in puzzlement.

Chen Yuan's face was bright red, as though he'd been caught stealing.

Zhang Xiu'e set breakfast on the coffee table and looked at Zhou Min.

"Zhou Min, aren't you working today?"

Zhou Min stood and smoothed her hair.

"I am. I was just about to leave."

Zhang Xiu'e watched her with the hint of a knowing smile.

Her gaze made Zhou Min thoroughly uncomfortable, and she hurried toward her room.

"I'll get my bag and go."

She went into her room and soon came back out, carrying a small handbag, her high heels clicking as she hurried toward the door.

At the doorway, she glanced back at Chen Yuan.

"Yuan, we'll talk some more when I get back tonight."

Then she opened the door and left.

The living room fell quiet.

Zhang Xiu'e stood beside the coffee table, looking at Chen Yuan.

There was a knowing amusement in her eyes.

Under her gaze, Chen Yuan grew flustered, sitting on the sofa without knowing what to do with his hands.

After watching him for a while, Zhang Xiu'e smiled and said,

"All right, stop sitting there in a daze. Have breakfast."

She bent down and took breakfast out of the plastic bag: a few steamed buns, two cups of soy milk, and two fried dough sticks.

Zhang Xiu'e arranged everything on the coffee table, then pulled over a stool and sat down.

Sitting on the sofa, Chen Yuan picked up a bun and took a bite.

Zhang Xiu'e sipped her soy milk, then looked at him and said,

"Yuan."

Chen Yuan looked up.

"Stay away from Zhou Min."

Chen Yuan paused, then the corners of his mouth lifted.

"Don't worry, Sister Ezi. I'm not stupid!"

Chen Yuan took another bite of his bun and looked at Zhang Xiu'e.

"I saw everything yesterday. She spent his money and treated him like a sucker, and it ended in that mess. I've got no interest in someone like that."

A flicker of surprise crossed Zhang Xiu'e's eyes.

"So you've got your head on straight."

Chen Yuan smiled. "I might be young, but I'm no fool."

Zhang Xiu'e nodded, completely reassured.

She took a sip of soy milk, then suddenly asked, "So what kind do you like?"

Chen Yuan froze for a moment.

"What?"

"What kind of girl do you like?" Zhang Xiu'e looked at him, her eyes sparkling. "Tell me."

Chen Yuan's face instantly turned red.

He opened his mouth, but couldn't get a word out.

Seeing him like that, Zhang Xiu'e burst into laughter.

"What? You've never thought about it?"

Chen Yuan lowered his head, his ears as red as ripe cherries.

Zhang Xiu'e laughed so hard she rocked back and forth, her breasts bouncing with her laughter.

Chen Yuan looked up just once before hastily lowering his head again.

A thought popped into his mind.

Someone just like Sister Ezi!

Zhang Xiu'e didn't notice his reaction. Once she'd laughed enough, she quieted down.

"All right, I'll stop teasing you. Come with me to the employment agency in a bit and register. Then I'll take you to buy a phone. You can't get by out in the world without one."

Chen Yuan raised his head.

"Buy a phone?"

"Yes. A cheap one costs three or four hundred, and a better one costs around a thousand. Get a cheap one for now. Once you've earned some money, you can upgrade."

Chen Yuan remembered how she'd taken out her phone last night, and a little warmth stirred inside him.

"Thank you, Sister Ezi."

Zhang Xiu'e waved a hand. "What are you thanking me for? Of course I'd help."

She went back to her room to change. When she came out, she wore jeans that hugged her backside tightly and a white shirt tucked into them, its buttons straining a little across her chest.

"Let's go."

Chen Yuan stood and followed Zhang Xiu'e.

The hallway was a little dim. Zhang Xiu'e walked ahead, and the allure of her figure in those jeans left Chen Yuan distracted once again.
