Ch. 361Overlord Divine Eyes!
Plot and key events
- The Qin Family’s Emperor-to-be arrives at the Hundred Ghosts Sect’s stronghold, where Qin Zhan, Qin Wuyou, and other family members are already in danger.
- The sect’s Dragon King welcomes the arrival as another opportunity to defeat the Qin Family and orders his people to capture the newcomer. The Left Guardian, who knows the Qin family’s strength firsthand, is privately alarmed but keeps quiet to avoid challenging the sect’s confidence.
- The Left Guardian warns against splitting the group to attack Qin Zhan and the others, persuading the Dragon King to confront the newcomer first.
- The Qin Family elder, Qin Taixu, enters with an overwhelming aura. His Overlord Divine Eyes nearly overwhelm the sect’s disciples with terror and threaten their souls.
- The Dragon King’s warning helps the disciples resist the technique. Seeing the sect’s formidable forces—several Emperors-to-be and many Supreme-level cultivators—Qin Taixu realizes he has underestimated the danger and may have entered recklessly.
Character developments and interactions
- The Left Guardian is cautious and increasingly fearful, unlike his overconfident allies. He redirects the Dragon King away from sending him against Qin Zhan and Qin Wuyou.
- The Dragon King remains boastful and eager to claim victory, dismissing the Qin family as insignificant. His quick warning, however, demonstrates that he recognizes the danger of Qin Taixu’s technique.
- Qin Taixu initially appears composed and formidable, but his confidence shifts to surprise and regret when he assesses the sect’s true strength.
- The sect members rally behind the Dragon King’s call to welcome their ancestor’s emergence with Qin Family blood, while the Left Guardian’s private doubts contrast sharply with their enthusiasm.
Significant themes
- Overconfidence versus caution: The Dragon King’s certainty and the sect’s bloodthirsty excitement conflict with the Left Guardian’s experience-based concern.
- Power and misjudgment: Both sides underestimate aspects of the other’s strength; Qin Taixu is especially unsettled by the sect’s unexpectedly large force.
- Fear as a weapon: The Overlord Divine Eyes show how spiritual power can intimidate and potentially harm opponents without a conventional attack.
