Wen Ning waited outside for Bai Lu, bored out of his mind.
He looked down at his right hand. A faint tingling still lingered in his fingertips. The electric arcs had dispersed, but his fingers always went numb after he used the Thunder Arts.

Wen Ning turned around.

Huang San stopped by the entrance, not daring to go any farther.
He cautiously glanced up at Wen Ning. The instant their eyes met, he recoiled as though shocked and lowered his head even more.
Seeing him cower like that, Wen Ning's mouth twitched. He wanted to say something, then decided he couldn't be bothered.

Chen Mu was an ordinary person. She had no cultivation, knew no spells, and lacked even the most basic means of protecting herself.

But what if the next one didn't follow the rules?
What if the next one simply attacked her?
Wen Ning couldn't stay beside Chen Mu twenty-four hours a day.
