Lu Ming wound the Demon-Binding Rope around his hand twice and tested its tension.
Then he glanced back at the Big Green Snake still huddled by the ruined temple's entrance.
That one glance sent a shudder through her entire body.
Wen Ning was exasperated by how cowardly she looked and walked over to her.
Her two enormous, lamp-like eyes tracked his footsteps, her whole body rigid.
Wen Ning crouched in front of her.
"Just stay in this village. Don't go wandering around, understand?"
His tone wasn't exactly gentle, but it was much better than before. At least he wasn't snapping at her.
The Big Green Snake froze for a moment, then nodded furiously. Her head bobbed so fast that her upper body bounced along with it, like a fat loach someone had fitted with a spring.
"I understand, I understand! I'll stay right here! I won't go anywhere!"
Wen Ning gave her a look, not entirely convinced by her promise.
After taking two steps, Wen Ning stopped again and added without looking back.
"If anyone else comes asking to take over, don't be stupid and just agree."
The Big Green Snake's eyes curved into crescents again, her tail wagging rapidly behind her.
"Got it!"
Then she added another question.
"Are all you deities this professional when you fight?"
Wen Ning ignored her and strode toward Lu Ming.
Lu Ming was rather busy at the moment.
He was swinging Xuan Yin back and forth through the air, leaving the snake utterly dizzy.
Seeing Wen Ning approach, Lu Ming flicked his wrist and reeled Xuan Yin back in.
"Ready to go?"
"Yes, let's go."
The two walked out of the ruined temple side by side.
