Madman Liu's head was wrapped up like a mummy, making him look rather ridiculous.

Following behind him was Little Yellow Hair, carrying a wooden stick about a meter long.

"This is the place." Madman Liu looked around, then pointed at the parcel pickup station's glass door and spoke in a low voice.

"All right, leave it to me." Yellow Hair raised the stick and was about to smash it into the glass door.

"Stop!" Madman Liu grabbed Yellow Hair's hand and snapped, "You idiot, what the hell are you doing?"

"Smashing the door." Yellow Hair looked puzzled. "Aren't we here to wreck the place and get revenge for you?"

"With all the noise that would make, are you trying to bring the cops down on us?" Madman Liu said, exasperated by his stupidity.

"Then what should we do?" Little Yellow Hair was at a loss.

"Watch me and learn." Madman Liu pulled a handful of tools out of his pocket, selected a hooked steel wire, and inserted it into the keyhole.

"Damn, Brother Liu, I didn't know you could do that! You've got to teach me sometime." Little Yellow Hair sounded instantly impressed. Standing behind him, he watched Madman Liu's movements without blinking.

Madman Liu slowly adjusted the wire in his hand and said smugly, "Heh... I've got plenty of tricks up my sleeve. Stick with me and learn, kid."

By then, Li Yichen had walked up behind them. Seeing how absorbed they were, he couldn't help curling his lip.

Then he gently blew a cold breath onto the back of Little Yellow Hair's neck.

Little Yellow Hair was watching intently when he suddenly felt a cold draft brush across his neck, instantly raising goosebumps.

"What's going on? Why does my neck feel cold?" Little Yellow Hair rubbed it and glanced behind him in confusion.

"What the hell?" Finding nothing unusual, Little Yellow Hair turned back to watch Madman Liu pick the lock.

"Whoosh..." Li Yichen blew another cold breath onto his back.

Little Yellow Hair shuddered, goosebumps springing up all over his body.

It was August, after all. Even at night, the temperature was over twenty degrees Celsius. Where could that cold draft have come from?

"L-Liu..." Unease tightened in Little Yellow Hair's chest. He tapped Madman Liu's shoulder. "My back feels cold. This place isn't haunted, is it?"

"What ghost? Quit scaring yourself," Madman Liu replied impatiently. Then a click sounded, and the lock opened.

"Once we're inside, smash everything you see. I'll show that brat what happens when he crosses me," Madman Liu said viciously as he pulled the door open.

"Got it, Liu." Though Little Yellow Hair was spooked, he still mustered the courage to follow him inside.

"Stay by the door. I'll find the light switch." After giving the order, Madman Liu felt his way farther inside.

"Liu, hurry up. I feel like there's something eerie about this shop," Little Yellow Hair whispered, tightening his grip on the stick.

"Look at you, you coward." Madman Liu curled his lip disdainfully, then took out his phone, switched on its flashlight, and shone it at the wall.

Just then, with a loud clatter, the glass door suddenly swung shut on its own.

Little Yellow Hair jumped and let out a howl. Dropping his stick, he threw himself onto Madman Liu and clung to him, shouting, "A ghost! There's a ghost!"

"Get off me!" Much braver than Yellow Hair, Madman Liu angrily hauled him off, pointed at his nose, and cursed, "It's just the wind! What's there to be scared of? With guts like yours, how do you expect to be a thug?"

Though the scolding made Little Yellow Hair flush, he stuck close behind Madman Liu, refusing to move even a step away.

Just as Madman Liu was about to give him a couple of kicks, the temperature inside the shop suddenly began plummeting.

"Liu, why is it getting cold?" Little Yellow Hair asked in a trembling voice.

"I... I don't know." Madman Liu could now tell something was wrong, too. He was certain the air conditioner hadn't been on when they entered. So where was the cold air coming from?

"Could there really be a ghost?" Bracing himself, he cautiously turned his phone's light toward the entrance.

The once-clear glass door was now covered in condensation, its surface beginning to cloud over.

Madman Liu swallowed hard. The sight was so eerie that every hair on his body stood on end.

"Let's go," Madman Liu said, forcing himself to be brave. His calves were starting to cramp, but he still had to put up a tough front before his underling.

"Liu, I... my legs are too weak... I can't walk." Little Yellow Hair was on the verge of tears, his legs shaking uncontrollably.

"Useless bastard." Madman Liu cursed, grabbed Little Yellow Hair, and started dragging him toward the exit.

Just then, a stroke suddenly appeared on the fogged glass, as though someone had traced a finger across it.

Their eyes nearly popped out of their heads. Their mouths hung wide open, but though they wanted to scream, neither could make a sound.

More and more strokes appeared on the door until they formed the words: "Trespassers die!"

With a thud, both men dropped to their knees.

"I don't want to die yet... boo-hoo..." Little Yellow Hair completely broke down. The poor guy was so terrified that he burst into tears.

Madman Liu wasn't much better off. He threw himself to the floor and repeatedly banged his forehead toward the door, crying, "Lord Ghost! Honored ancestor! Spare my life! I'll never come here again! Please spare me!"

Just then, an ethereal voice rang out. "Leave payment for your lives, then get out!"

Li Yichen hadn't intended to kill them. After all, if someone really died in the shop, there was no way he could escape involvement.

Overjoyed, the two hurriedly turned out all their pockets, only to come up with two coins.

"Are you trying to insult me?" Li Yichen nearly exploded with anger. I spent all this time playing with you, and it's only worth two yuan?

Li Yichen glanced around, spotted the wooden stick Yellow Hair had dropped, and picked it up.

He had made up his mind. No money, huh? Then you can pay with your bodies. Today, I'll teach you what pain really means.

Seeing the stick float into the air, the two were already scared witless. They wanted to run, but didn't dare.

With a whoosh, Li Yichen swung the stick at Madman Liu's head.

Thwack! Thwack! Thwack!

"Aaargh!"

After a dozen or so blows, Madman Liu, who hadn't even recovered from his previous injuries, had lumps all over his head.

Little Yellow Hair covered his head and stuck his backside high in the air, looking just like an ostrich.

"Lord Ghost, I have money! I'll pay!" Just as the stick was about to strike his head again, Madman Liu shouted with his eyes squeezed shut.

The stick stopped directly above their heads, ready to come down at any moment.

Trembling, Madman Liu removed the finger-thick gold necklace from around his neck. Holding it out with a fawning expression, he said, "This is the most valuable thing I have. It's pure gold."

Then, as though remembering something else, he opened his mouth and pointed to a tooth. "I also have a gold tooth. If you want it, I..."

Seeing his blood-filled mouth, Li Yichen felt a little sick. He grimaced and said, "Leave the necklace and get out!" Then he pushed the door open. "If I ever see you here again, you're dead."

"Yes... yes..." Overjoyed, Madman Liu set down the necklace and hurriedly said, "I'll leave Jinling tonight and never come back." Then he scrambled out on his hands and knees.

"Now things are looking up, heh." Li Yichen became visible, picked the gold necklace up off the floor, and casually stuffed it into his pocket.

"Shit, it's almost midnight!" Li Yichen checked the time and immediately sprinted toward the dormitory building.

As he ran back, a scroll suddenly unfurled in the sky above the White Temple dozens of li away, radiating countless beams of golden light.
