Actually, Song Yi knew Little Yellow Hair was just a local thug, but that didn't mean he could embezzle as much Student Union money as he pleased.
Besides, their own carefree lifestyle cost money too, so ten thousand yuan was already their limit. Any more, and someone might notice.
Night fell, and the final day of welcoming new students came to an end.
Judging by how excited everyone looked, they must all have gotten something out of it.
"Tonight, skewers are on me, and all the big green bottles of beer you can drink," Zhang Yong offered this time.
"No." Li Yichen immediately waved his hand. "Give it a rest, guys. I don't want to carry you all back again like yesterday."
"Yesterday was just an accident." All three looked a little embarrassed. They had drunk themselves into a blackout yesterday and genuinely couldn't remember how they had gotten back.
It was just as well they couldn't remember, or they would have died of embarrassment.
"I still have to go to the Courier Station tonight. You guys go without me," Li Yichen said honestly. He hadn't gone yesterday, and although Wang Bo had been keeping an eye on things, he still felt a little bad about it.
"All right, then." The three knew Li Yichen usually helped out at the Courier Post, so they didn't think much of it.
Still, they carried a case of beer upstairs and picked up a few prepared dishes, having a little party in their dorm room.
After taking a sip, Yang Weifeng suddenly remembered something and asked curiously, "Oh, right. I heard someone was giving you trouble today, but by the time I rushed over, everyone was gone."
"Yeah," Sun Kai chimed in. "Third Brother and I heard you'd been surrounded. We were worried you'd get hurt and rushed over to help, but everyone had already left."
Li Yichen was touched. These guys had actually thought to come rescue him. They really were good brothers.
"It was nothing, really," Li Yichen said casually. "I just offended Han Wenqi, that's all."
"Han Wenqi?" The three exchanged glances.
"That guy's a snake behind a smile. You'd better watch out. They might play dirty," Zhang Yong warned worriedly.
"It's fine. Don't worry. Worst comes to worst, I'll beat the bastard up." Li Yichen didn't consider them a threat at all.
"Yeah." Yang Weifeng nodded. "Fourth Brother's right. Worst comes to worst, we beat the bastard up. Just don't forget to call me."
"Me too..."
"And me, me, me..."
"If there's a fight, I'll call you guys first. Cheers." Li Yichen raised his glass gratefully.
"Cheers..."
After eating and drinking his fill, Li Yichen went to the Courier Post again and worked until eleven before returning to the dorm.
There was actually a storage room behind the shop, about five or six square meters in size.
He was considering tidying it up a little so he wouldn't have to return to the dorm when it got too late. That would give him a regular place to rest.
The next day was bright and sunny. With no classes in the afternoon, Li Yichen grabbed a quick meal with his roommates in the cafeteria, then headed toward the Courier Station.
Life seemed to have returned to its usual routine.
What he didn't know was that Little Yellow Hair was squatting by the roadside outside the campus gates with several young men sporting tattoo sleeves, ogling the scantily clad female students passing by.
"Whew..." As a girl in a miniskirt walked past them, one of the young men whistled at her.
"Creep." The girl rolled her eyes at him, then walked away with a sway of her hips.
"Hey, gorgeous, how about a late-night snack together?" Seeing her reaction, the young man immediately started running his mouth.
Just then, Song Yi ran over. He had already checked Li Yichen's class schedule and estimated that Li Yichen would show up within half an hour.
Song Yi walked up to Little Yellow Hair, glanced at the tattooed young men, and frowned. "Brother Yellow Hair, what's with these guys?"
"Just a bunch of broke bums. It's fine. Don't mind them," Little Yellow Hair said indifferently.
Then he took out a pack of cigarettes and tossed it to them. "Smoke these for now. Once we're done, I'll get each of you a fifty-yuan pack of Langzi."
The young men were delighted. Taking the cigarettes, they grinned and said, "Thanks, Brother Yellow Hair. We've never smoked Langzi that expensive before."
Little Yellow Hair grinned. "Stick with me, and you'll get the good stuff, the expensive stuff, just not the free stuff."
"Brother Yellow Hair, you're generous." One of the young men gave him a thumbs-up, then said with a miserable look, "Brother Yellow Hair, I'm hungry. I haven't eaten all day."
"Let's finish this job first, then I'll take you guys out for spicy hot pot," Little Yellow Hair said, thumping his chest. "We'll shoot some pool this afternoon and hit a club tonight."
The young men were overjoyed, looking as excited as if it were New Year's.
"Brother Yellow Hair, could you chip in two yuan? I want a little Mixue. I'm kind of thirsty." One of the young men pointed at the bubble tea shop beside them.
"No problem." Little Yellow Hair generously transferred four yuan to him. "Get a lemonade. It's on me."
"You got it!" The young man went off gleefully.
When he came out, he was clutching a handful of straws. He handed one to each of them, and they all stuck them into the cup, taking turns drinking.
The cigarette dropped from Song Yi's mouth with a soft tap. He gaped at the sight, not even noticing that it had fallen to the ground.
"What the hell are these guys? Did they come out of a refugee camp?" Song Yi asked worriedly. "Brother Yellow Hair, can these guys handle it?"
"Don't worry." Yellow Hair patted his chest. "We're just beating up a college student, right? Piece of cake."
"All right." For the first time, Song Yi began to doubt his decision.
Just then, a familiar figure appeared in his line of sight.
There was no time for second thoughts. He tugged at Yellow Hair and said, "The target's here."
As soon as Li Yichen walked out of the campus gates, his brow creased involuntarily.
Ever since he had started cultivating, both his memory and his perception had grown stronger by more times than he could count.
He sensed several hostile gazes directed at him.
Could it really be just like Eldest Brother and the others said? Is that Han guy going to play dirty?
Without giving anything away, he scanned his surroundings and unexpectedly spotted two people he knew.
Sure enough, one of them was Song Yi, whom he had met yesterday.
He was in a corner with a yellow-haired guy, pointing at Li Yichen, probably identifying him.
When Li Yichen saw the other yellow-haired guy, he nearly laughed aloud. You're really bringing trash like this out to embarrass yourselves? Looks like I'll have to teach you another unforgettable lesson today.
Having made up his mind, he casually crossed the road and headed toward an old residential complex outside campus. He intended to catch them all in one go, trapping them like turtles in a jar.
Not far away, Song Yi pretended to chat with Yellow Hair while keeping an eye on Li Yichen's movements.
Song Yi tugged at Little Yellow Hair and said urgently, "Brother Yellow Hair, he's heading that way."
"Yeah, I see him." Little Yellow Hair hurriedly took a few deep drags on his cigarette, then tossed it to the ground. He called to the young men still drinking their Mixue. "Stop drinking. Come on, follow him."
