"High God." Lin Jiaxing set down her chopsticks, curiosity shining in her eyes. "Were those murals in Jingwei's cave residence true? Did Jingwei really keep searching for Life-Soul Stones for Lin Hai?"

The table fell silent for a moment. Chen Siyao and Yang Wanqing exchanged a glance, neither saying a word.
They had seen the murals in the tree hollow, read Jingwei's diary, and seen that feathered robe, but they did not know whether Jingwei had ultimately revived Lin Hai.
Chen Hao set down his teacup and gazed at the sea outside the window. After a brief silence, he said slowly, "She found new hope."
Lin Jiaxing wanted to ask more, but Du Ling gently touched her hand beneath the table, and she swallowed the question on the tip of her tongue.
