But more than half the shelves were empty. Only a few fragmentary scrolls and several jade discs used for recording remained.
Chen Siyao checked the place and collected everything usable.
The Tianyi Golden Pool lay in the southeastern corner of the Palace Complex. It was a circular pool roughly ten meters in diameter, its walls covered in water-attribute formation inscriptions. The pool had dried up, leaving only a layer of grayish-white crystals on the bottom.
"This was probably used to temper water-attribute artifacts," Chen Siyao concluded. "The water evaporated long ago."
The Immortals' Gathering Fudi was an open courtyard area with stone tables and stools, artificial hills, and flowing water—though, of course, the water had dried up too.
Its layout resembled the rear garden of a Daoist temple on Blue Star, only ten times larger.
Last came the Five Materials Palace.
This place made Yang Wanqing's eyes light up.
The Five Materials Palace had a layout similar to the Pill Chamber's, but it was larger. Its interior was divided into five sections, corresponding to artifact refining materials of the metal, wood, water, fire, and earth attributes.
Most of the shelves were empty. Almost nothing remained in the wood- and water-attribute sections. Those two types of materials were difficult to preserve; over ten thousand years, they had either rotted or evaporated.
But the metal-attribute section still had some stock.
