He looked ten years older than he had two days ago, with sunken eyes and dark stubble sprouting along his chin.
"Miss Chen." Qin Zheng rubbed his eyes. "Still no movement in Antarctica?"
"None." Chen Siyao stared at the screen behind him. "Any abnormalities anywhere on Blue Star?"
"We've been monitoring constantly. Our orbital satellites conduct observations at irregular intervals around the clock, and the entire ground-based early-warning network has been switched to maximum sensitivity."
Qin Zheng paused. "Aside from the Gold-Eater Clan army near the moon, we haven't detected any abnormal energy fluctuations on Blue Star itself or within its atmosphere."
Chen Siyao fell silent for a few seconds.
"What abilities does Summers have?" Qin Zheng asked.
"According to the intel my brother provided," Chen Siyao brought up a document and projected it in front of him, "Bloodthirst, Corrosion, and Devouring are its three basic abilities. It also has two special abilities: invisibility and Doppelganger."
Invisibility.
Doppelganger.
Chen Siyao stared at those two words, and a thought suddenly flashed through her mind.
"Could its invisibility fool our detection systems?"
"In theory, no." Qin Zheng shook his head. "Our detection network is multidimensional. Psionic Energy fluctuations, thermal signatures, mass disturbances, and spatial ripples—four layers of monitoring. Unless Summers can mask all four signatures simultaneously..."
He never finished.
Because Chen Siyao's expression changed.
"It can," she interrupted Qin Zheng. "Blind Ancient has a Hundred Laws. Summers only has a few, but if it channels all its law power into invisibility—"
Qin Zheng's expression changed too.
"You mean it's already..."
"I'm not sure." Chen Siyao ended the call and turned toward the Antarctic Base. "But if it really has entered Blue Star, we need to recheck every possible target."
She raised her hand and brought up a map of the entire planet.
