"Lai Yihai, long time no see. No, I should call you Priest Larkin."

The group surrounded the little hut. Seeing only a figure crouching on the ground, they assumed it was the person they sought.

Qian Wanyu frowned deeply at that sinister tone, though she did glean something from it: Lai Yihai must have been Priest Larkin's name. She stepped out of the hut. "Who are you?"

"You're not Lai Yihai. Where is he?" the man demanded angrily once he saw Qian Wanyu clearly.

"You're Death Spirit Masters."

"Hahaha! Since you know, we can't let you live."

Qian Wanyu watched their figures flicker like ghosts, vanishing into the darkness before reappearing in front of her, beside her, and behind her. She kept her guard up. Their very first exchange told her these people were different from the ones they had encountered in the swamp. Their level was clearly higher than any she had faced before.

"As long as you tell me where Lai Yihai went, I can leave your corpse intact."

Qian Wanyu scoffed. "You think you're capable of that?"

Several bolts of lightning flashed through the night sky, accompanied by continuous thunder. The commotion was tremendous, and the sight was alarming.

"It's Seventh Sister."

There was neither rain nor wind that night. The sudden thunder startled Little Minghui so badly that she dropped the meat in her hand. She sprang up, looked in that direction, and took off running.

"Little Witch."

Lien abandoned his meal and hurried after her, barely managing to keep pace. "Little Witch."

"Seventh Sister."

The ground outside Priest Larkin's hut was a complete mess, riddled with craters. In the worst-hit spot, a huge pit had formed. Remnants of purple lightning still crackled inside it, and several twisted bodies lay at the bottom, charred beyond recognition.
