They followed the Dragon-Trapping Seal into the Memory Mirror. The water around them transformed into a Silver River. At its far end, countless snowflake-like things fluttered down in clusters, each resembling a ball, in every imaginable color.
Most of the orbs, however, were dull gray. The Dragon-Trapping Seal stretched out its hand and beckoned lightly, drawing a gray orb over.
"Why are they all different colors?" Little Lecher curiously extended a vine, only for the Dragon-Trapping Seal to slap it back. "These are the Memory Orbs hidden inside the Memory Mirror. Their colors represent the feelings reflected by the people in those memories."
Qian Wanyu looked around. Most of the memories were gray, with red the rarest and blue scarcely more common. "Since the colors represent people's emotions, mixing them together should produce multiple colors. Why are there multicolored ones, then?"
"Well..." The Dragon-Trapping Seal had spent many years in Dragon-Trapping Valley, taking out these colored memories to browse whenever it grew bored. "Perhaps those memories contain bitterness, laughter, fear, and other emotions. Combined, they form the colors of the Memory Orbs."
"I want to look at that one."
In a corner of the Silver River was a tiny orb, no bigger than a palm. Its colors were faint, but it was one of the rarely seen multicolored orbs.
"If these memories capture such complex emotions, the experiences behind them must be fascinating." Qian Wanyu did not want to see the gray memories. Their gloomy aura gave her a sense of defeat, as though they held nothing but sorrow and death.
