For once, Guang Zhen reacted remarkably quickly. As he spoke, he was already about to follow Little Light into the Thousand Family estate.
Dongfang Minghui moved at what was practically the fastest speed of her life, drawing out a Flying Needle and inserting it. In just a few breaths, the Light-Soul Bell's thunderous ringing stopped abruptly, like a parrot whose vulnerable throat had been seized, its voice snuffed out.
Everything happened so quickly that Dongfang Minghui's heart was still pounding, nearly leaping into her throat. She could not tell whether she felt excited and hopeful because Seventh Sister had returned, or whether Little Light, that troublemaking little creature, had simply infuriated her.

The guards on either side, who had failed to react earlier, immediately blocked Guang Zhen and Hou Qiquan. The Light-Soul Bell at Guang Zhen's waist also began jingling, but its sound was entirely different from the one at Dongfang Minghui's waist. The latter's earlier ringing had carried through every village for miles around, like a loudspeaker. The former sounded clear and delicate, like a wind chime, and carried only a short distance.
Dongfang Minghui slipped past them and shouted furiously, "Little Light, stop right there!"
"Brother Qian, something seems wrong. Should you go inside and take a look first?" This was the first time Guang Zhen and Hou Yuqi had encountered such a situation.
