The shrill rush of air sliced through the crowd's ears as the Sky Wolf Racing Car and the Flying Racing Car tore around the track under everyone's watchful eyes, both surging forward with ferocious momentum.
Before long, the two cars reached the first obtuse-angle bend.
The turn changed direction by only about thirty to sixty degrees. Its inner angle was obtuse, giving it a boomerang-like shape and making it a high-speed corner.
Because the change in direction was slight, drivers could take it very fast. Some obtuse-angle bends required no braking at all and could be taken at full speed. Even when slowing was necessary, easing off the accelerator a little on entry and judging the cornering angle correctly was enough to get through smoothly.
Put simply, this bend was not much of a test for a racing driver.
Inside the Flying Racing Car, Jun Wangchen, possessed by Zhang Chunqiu, curled his lips without reducing his speed in the slightest. Halfway through the car's sideways slide, he released the handbrake and clutch together, then flicked the steering wheel again while tapping the brake repeatedly with his right foot.
A moment later, the Flying Racing Car seemed to sprout wings. With a weightless flick of its tail, it drifted through the first major corner, hugging the edge.
At the crossover point, Jun Wangchen sharply twisted the steering wheel again, swinging the nose around. He cleared the crossover with ease, completing an ultra-high-speed drift through the obtuse-angle bend.

With a ripping howl from its engine, the Flying Racing Car shot away like lightning, leaving the Sky Wolf Racing Car far behind while it was still negotiating the bend.
