Without the World Government's backing, White Mask was, at best, a skilled fighter.
Before an unmatched powerhouse like Randall, he could be subdued in an instant.
And now, Randall was directing undisguised killing intent at him.
How could he not be terrified?
White Mask thought, A wise man knows when to back down. I'll save my life first. There'll be plenty of time to settle this later.
As for his pride, he had thought it mattered before, but compared with his life, it was worth nothing.
So he chose to back down.
But Randall's hand was clamped around his throat, leaving him unable to speak.
He opened his mouth, making strangled sounds in his throat, and desperately signaled with his eyes that he had something to say.
Seeing this, Randall loosened his grip a little, and White Mask immediately dropped onto the deck.
"Cough, cough! Vice Admiral Randall, this is a misunderstanding! It's all a misunderstanding!"
White Mask first coughed until his face and neck flushed red, then hurriedly spoke.
With that single sentence, he dismissed both his earlier threats against Randall and his order for his subordinates to attack him.
Randall almost laughed in anger.
"Even someone who's had a blood clot in their brain for ten years would have a better memory than you! Do you need me to remind you what you just did and said?"
White Mask's expression grew even uglier.
Was Randall really not going to let this go?
I've already backed down! Yet he still won't budge. Damn him!
White Mask gritted his teeth. He was at a disadvantage now, so he would have to endure it!
Take a step back, and the world opens up. Endure for a moment, and the storm passes!
"Then, Vice Admiral Randall, what do you want to do?"
