The deck beneath Yalisi Du's feet exploded, and he used the recoil to launch himself at Akainu.

Akainu went flying.
He rolled across the ground several times before regaining his balance.
"You damned scum!"
Akainu gritted his teeth. If his legs hadn't suddenly given out at the last moment, how could an attack like that have hit him?
Rage consumed him. He was a tiger brought low, humiliated by trash he could normally wipe out with a flick of his finger!
"Admiral Akainu, you need to understand your situation."
Yalisi Du watched Akainu with relish as he approached him step by step.
The other pirates weren't happy.
You wouldn't step up when things were dangerous, but now that the danger's gone, you want to show off?
Like hell they'd let him get away with that!
Without warning, attacks of every kind rained down on Akainu almost simultaneously.
Yalisi Du's face darkened.
"You damned bastards! You dare steal my prey!"
Ignoring Akainu, he attacked the pirates around him instead.
"Ah! You bastard, what are you doing?"
"Have you gone mad?!"
A mass of magma writhed and re-formed into Akainu.
But now Akainu was deathly pale and gasping for breath.
He showed no fear, only watching coldly as the pirates before him turned on one another.
Yalisi Du was immensely strong, knocking down the surrounding pirates one after another all on his own.
In the Navy, he would have been at least as strong as a vice admiral.
Dozens of pirates fell, only for hundreds more to close in.
They were flies drawn to rotting meat. There was no driving them away.
A vicious look crossed Yalisi Du's face. He lowered his head and charged straight at Akainu.
Wherever he passed, pirates scattered through the air like petals in the wind.
