Randall said mildly:

"No, I'd like to take a look around the island first."

The Base Chief's expression changed again.

Before the Base Chief could come up with an excuse, Randall's tone turned cold:

"What, is that a problem?"

The Base Chief gritted his teeth. "Cross, get over here and show this officer from headquarters around town!"

A middle-aged man with one eye larger than the other immediately hurried over.

"Cross, take this officer around and show him everything!"

The Base Chief spoke to Cross, giving him a meaningful look behind Randall's back.

Cross understood at once.

"Sir, come with me! I know this town inside out!"

Randall glanced at him, said nothing, and walked straight off.

Cross hurried after him.

Once the two had left, everyone present breathed a sigh of relief.
