Kozuki Sukiyaki saw that Randall looked nothing like those lawless pirates.
Besides, he had already slain Kaido.
So he took it for granted that Randall was different from Kaido, that he followed the rules.
Unfortunately, he had overlooked—or deliberately ignored—one thing: Randall was even stronger than Kaido.
"My lord!"
Denjiro blanched and hurried forward, trying to help Kozuki Sukiyaki up.
But Kozuki Sukiyaki seemed fiercely resistant.
It was as though he wanted to lie on the ground.
As Denjiro tried to lift him, Kozuki Sukiyaki kept pushing downward.
His strength was considerable, too. Denjiro struggled for ages without getting him up.
"My lord, what are you doing?
Get up!"
Denjiro was growing terribly frustrated.
"I can't get up! Something's pinning me down! I can't get up!"
Kozuki Sukiyaki stammered with his mouth full of dirt.
Denjiro thought Kozuki Sukiyaki had gone mad.
What was pinning him down?
There was clearly nothing on him!
He simply didn't want to get up!
"What's going on?"
Yamato looked at Randall curiously.
She did not understand, but she was ninety-nine percent certain Randall had done something.
The remaining one percent was that Kozuki Sukiyaki had suddenly gone mad.
Seeing that Caris looked curious too, Randall explained:
"You can never wake someone who's pretending to sleep.
You can never lift a stone that exists in your mind.
It's the same principle."
Caris looked thoughtful at his words.
"So he believes he can't get up.
And that means he really can't get up."
"My Caris is so clever."
Randall chuckled.
Caris rolled her eyes, but she could not suppress the smile tugging at her lips.
Yamato understood too.
Then she looked at Randall in horror.
Was this why Kaido had suddenly gone mad, slaughtered the Beasts Pirates, and then killed himself?
