"There it is! Liu Qing's fifth Pokémon is a Shiny Gyarados, while Hua Yan's final Pokémon is the extremely rare Dragonite!" the Announcer announced loudly.
"Dragonite, Fly!" Hua Yan called out immediately. Hearing her command, Dragonite flapped the wings on his back and rose into the air, facing Gyarados on the ground from a distance.
Inner Focus rendered Gyarados's Intimidate useless. Liu Qing felt a little disappointed. Lowering his opponent's attack before the battle would have given him a considerable advantage. Still, he merely sighed before recovering his composure and calmly watching Dragonite overhead.
"Dragonite, attack with Blizzard!" Hua Yan ordered.
"Gyarados, dodge and use Aqua Tail!" Watching the rain fall, Liu Qing sneered inwardly. This is rain, not hail. It won't make Blizzard unavoidable, and rain gives Gyarados a huge advantage.
Dragonite immediately gathered energy in his mouth and unleashed it with a howl toward Gyarados, who lay coiled on the ground. Before Blizzard reached him, Gyarados darted aside to evade the attack. Then, with a ring of water surrounding his enormous tail, he swept it toward Dragonite in the air.
"Dragonite, block it with Focus Punch!" Hua Yan hurriedly shouted.
Dragonite's right fist immediately shone white as he punched Aqua Tail. The ring of water burst apart, and the white light surrounding Focus Punch scattered into tiny sparks. The force of the tail drove Dragonite backward, while Focus Punch checked Gyarados's tail mid-swing.
"Gyarados, Ice Fang!" His tail had been driven back, but Gyarados had a long, serpentine body. At Liu Qing's command, cold air surged from his mouth, forming two exceptionally prominent fangs of ice. He lunged at the retreating Dragonite and bit down, instantly drawing an expression of intense pain.
"Dragonite, hurry and use DragonBreath!" Hua Yan had not expected Gyarados to possess such strength and
