"Aura Sphere tracks the aura given off by its opponent, so no matter how Voltorb dodges, it'll hit as long as Voltorb's aura doesn't disappear!" Liu Qing explained as he recalled Togetic and sent Larvesta back into battle.
"Larvesta again? Magneton, show them your specialty, Zap Cannon!" Wattson ordered immediately. As soon as Magneton appeared, it fired six bolts of electricity from the magnets on its body straight at Larvesta.
Zap Cannon is most powerful when fired as a sphere, but the recoil is so strong that it usually misses unless the user is heavy and also knows Lock-On. The next best method is firing it as a beam, like Porygon-Z. That reduces its power somewhat, but also cuts the recoil considerably, improving accuracy.
